We have all had a margarita, a whiskey sour or any number of other cocktails where the ubiquitous sour mix is pre-made either in a bottle, or out of a “gun” at the bar. Either way, they leave a lot to be desired, especially once you make your own. Trust me on this one. . .
1½ cups water
1 cup sugar
½ cup fresh squeezed lime juice
½ cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
In a medium sauce pan over medium heat, bring water to a boil, and stir in sugar until dissolved
Bring to a boil, and remove from heat and chill
Combine sugar water with juices and allow to marry for a few hours or overnight
